Title I-A

Title I, Part A is a federal program that gives extra funding to schools so that every student has the support they need to meet Idaho's academic standards.

How Title I Works at Melba

Melba Elementary runs a schoolwide Title I program. That means Title I resources support all students at the school, not only students who have been identified for extra help.

At Melba Elementary, Title I funds pay for:

  • Title I paraprofessionals, who work with students in small groups and give extra help during the school day
  • Instructional supplies and materials

Getting Involved

Families are partners in their children's education. Each year, Melba Elementary holds an annual Title I meeting to explain the program and how families can take part. Families can also help review the school's Parent and Family Engagement Policy and School-Parent Compact.

Your Right to Know

As a parent of a student in a Title I school, you have the right to ask about the professional qualifications of your child's teachers and any paraprofessionals who work with your child. This includes whether a teacher is licensed for the grade and subject they teach. Details are in the Melba Elementary Student-Parent Handbook, or you can ask the school office.
